I would just have to say Paul Zindel is an excellent writer. I had to read the book "The Pigman," for my book report and I have to say bravo. If anyone reads this I have to say read "The Pigman" if you haven't already, it is an excellent book.

Someone asked me the other day if i enjoyed reading The Pigman. Im sure they were quite surprised to find me screaming at them that of course I did it was the best book ever. Mr. Zindel, if by chnce you end up reading this, i would like to let you know, that you have a lifelong fan in me. I plan on going to the library and checking out any books you have written. Your a huge inspiration to young aspiring writers like myself. I hope you write tons more books for me and every other kid in the world to enjoy.

i went into the pigman thinking it would be another crummy book, but this book was exceptional. It was very suspenseful, and had a lot of meaning. I probably should write my report on it, rather then write on this. uhh heh heh

How are you. Do it now. It is not safe to leave a generous feeling to the cooling influences of the world.

Thank you so much for your future answers ;). Jan.

I met Mr. Zindel when I acted in his play Every 17 Minutes the Crowd Goes Crazy in 1995 at San Francisco's Young Conservatory at the A.C.T. Or was it 1996? '95 I think. I was fairly new to acting, and have since become a professional, due in part to my wonderful experience there.
I will always remember him as a loving, interesting looking guy-those glasses-who told me I reminded him of Walter Matthau. I was saddened when I heard he passed, and remained honored to have worked with such a beloved artist.

Does anybody know if they made a movie version of "The Pigman." Somebody once told me they filmed an "ABC Afterschool Special" based on "The Pigman." If so, who was in it, who directed it, and what year was it made?

Thank you in advance!

Sincerely, Steve B.

Paul Zindel was my mother's high school Chemistry teacher at Tottenville High School. She always told me what a wonderful man he was and encouraged me to read his books. I felt connected to them as a teenager growing up on Staten Island. I could relate to his characters and to the places that he wrote about. Later, I too, became a teacher. I hope I leave as positive an influence on my students, as Mr. Zindel left on my mother. I'm giving his books to my 14 year-old step-daughter. I hope she loves them as much as I did. I was so sad to hear of Mr. Zindels's passing. I hope his family knows how much he was appreciated.

Paul Zindel is the only writer that consistently held me. Into adulthood, I re-read the titles I''d read as a teen and then sought out the other titles. I''ve read so much of it, I feel like I fully understand life growing up in/on Staten Island, Long Island, New Jersey, et al. \r\n\r\nI''m so sorry that Paul died the year before I got back into him. I would love to have written him a letter. He''s the only writer that ever made me laugh out loud from the written word on the page. I wish only good things to his family, friends and many fans of several generations.

To all the people that love this book, i hope you guys like it as much as I do. I am now up to The Pigman and Me. I hope the people that read this book all liked it. Enjoy!!

I vividly remember that cloudy, mundane day three years ago in Grade 9.(2003) I thought that the Pigman was just any old book that we had to cruise through in order to do our assignments. The moment I started reading the first page of "The Pigman" was purely magical. The journey was like an adventure into something so vaguely familiar, almost lifelike. It appeals to anybody, anywhere, without any kind of cultural, racial, or political restraint. I soon went on to read "The Pigman''s Legacy" and "The Pigman and Me," both of which made me laugh, cry, sometimes at the same time. The wonderful experience that I have gained from your novels is still crystal clear today, and will remain with me forever.\r\n\r\nThank you for the inspiration to everybody, and for your love of making the world a better place in our mind and heart.
